Monthly Menu: January 2012

This morning Amity, Amanda, Leah and I gathered in my  kitchen for our monthly ritual of meal swapping. We all showed up with food in coolers, and then put a meal at each predetermined spot. Typically Amity and I split the dining table, Amanda and Leah split the buffet bar. The months that we have a 5th swapper we will pull out a card table. It's all so much fun and we usually stick around for awhile to visit and, of course, take the photo of the goods!!!!
BOY do we have some good looking stuff this month!  (Do I say that every month?)

Beef
Luscious Layered Spaghetti
Grandma's Taco Soup
Lasagna
Meatballs Sub Sandwiches
Tater Tot Casserole
Chili Cheese Fries Casserole

Chicken
Crock-pot Jambalaya
Cilantro Lime Chicken
Chicken Stuffing Casserole

Other
Pasta Milano (pork and chicken)
Pork and Apples (pork)
Baked Chimichangas (turkey)
CheesyPotatoes with Ham (pork)
Noodle Bake (ground turkey)

***The menu items that have recipes on the blog are linked... the ones that are not linked will be linked as soon as my family eats the meal.  I likes my recipes to have photos attached when I post them. ;)

I love all the recipes you post and I pin a lot of them to try as soon as possible. Do you have tips for others who might want to start their own freezer cooking group?

Dottie,
Here are some links where I explained how to start a meal group of your own. Each post has a different take on the "Group Method". I hope that helps! If you still have questions please let another message and I will try to answer it in the best way possible.

So much good stuff planned and I really enjoyed hearing about your frozen meal swap! I went and checked out that Luscious Layered Spaghetti and it sounds like something my family would really like.

Looks like you have many great meals ahead of you to pull out of the freezer one day. I just love freezer meals since it means I don't have to cook but I didn't get take out either.

I used to be a part of a freezer meal swap group but we kind of fizzled out. This makes me want to get it started again. It is so nice to pull something out of the freezer on days when you're busy.

Leah made a roast of some sort and it was in a festive holiday ziplock. The directions and name of it wiped off, so I just put it in the crockpot and my husband LOVES whatever it is! I'm not finding the link.
Also, the jambalaya is awesome! When you're brave and try it, I'll post my review! It's pretty darn authentic minus the seafood! LOL! It goes well with cornbread!
